Gillingham will be looking to extend their unbeaten four game run when Bradford City visit Priestfield on Saturday afternoon.

Victory over Bournemouth in the FA Cup on Tuesday night will see Andy Hessenthaler’s side go into this weekend’s game full of confidence against a Bradford side managed by former Charlton boss Phil Parkinson that sits close to the bottom of League One.

As for Gillingham, they start the weekend in eighth place in the table and a victory against the Bantams could see them climb as high as fifth.

Scoring hasn’t been a problem for The Gills in the last four games, hitting the net twelve times, but have conceded nine along the way, so fans taking up the offer of tickets for just £10 could be in for a real treat.

Hessenthaler will once again have to change his side with Frank Nouble and Jo Kuffour coming back into the squad after missing Tuesday’s game through ineligibility.

Matt Lawrence will also be available after being rested in the week, although Hessenthaler will have to shoehorn him into a side that would mean a reshuffle at the back.

With Danny Jackman rated at only 50/50 after picking up a groin injury and Chris Whelpdale doubtful with a chest infection, Hessenthaler may well have his selection worries made a little easier.

Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler told BBC Radio Kent:

“It’ll be a tough game, Bradford are looking for points as they’re down near the bottom at the moment. They’ve got a good manager in Phil Parkinson, who’s just getting the feel of the club.

“League Two is a difficult division to get out of, but we believe if we can get promoted we have the players that will make the step up. Sometimes you can get bogged down, there’s not loads of football played and it can get very physical, but we’ve got the squad to mix it up.

“Bradford are a massive club, with great support. I remember when we played them in the FA Cup and they were in the Premier League. Times have changed, but I think they’ve got the right manager in charge now.”
